Karl Andersson & Söner is a Swedish family-owned furniture manufacturer that has been creating well-crafted and sustainable furniture since 1898. Founded by the skilled carpenter Karl Andersson in the village of Berghem, near Huskvarna, the company began as a small workshop producing tables, chairs, and other wooden pieces made entirely by hand. From the very beginning, Karl’s philosophy was clear — to make “well-made furniture, durable and sustainable,” a principle that still defines the brand today.

Over the decades, the small workshop evolved into an industrial company, officially established as Karl Andersson & Söner in 1944 when Karl’s sons joined the business. Through four generations, the company has remained true to its craftsmanship roots while continuously embracing innovation and modern design. Collaboration with prominent designers such as Carl Malmsten, Børge Mogensen, and Göran Malmvall has helped the company create furniture that combines timeless aesthetics with functionality and has earned a place in museum collections, including the Nordiska Museet in Stockholm.

Wood has always been the heart of Karl Andersson & Söner’s production. The company carefully uses every part of the timber to minimize waste and has gradually introduced new materials such as steel and HI-MACS to meet contemporary needs. Each piece is still produced in Huskvarna, where craftsmanship, technology, and environmental responsibility come together.
